- GCC is the acronym for Gulf Cooperation Council comprising of The United Arab Emirates, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait.
- Total GCC population is about 42 – 45 million as of July 2014 (using an estimate of about 7 – 8m for the UAE) about 60% of the total is for Saudi Arabia.
- 80% of the total UAE population are expats from the UK, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
- GCC countries have a significant economic dependence on oil export.Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Oman and Bahrain have much less dependence on oil.
